KC Metro results 10/4

Max Storms broke the O'Hara school record of 15:57 in the 3.1 mile race set by Phil Byrne in 1988 by placing third at the KC Metro meet run at Ray Pec Middle School in a time of 15:45.
Others setting personal bests were: Andy Meyer (18:19), Sam Baird (23:46), Thomas Armenta
(24:19), Chelsea Rose (25:15), Amy Gaston (27:08), Katelyn Gutteridge (23:45), Paige Bush
24:46), Erin Scott (26:49), and Claire Becker (25:41). Katelyn Gutteridge would have won a medal had she run the freshman race. She would have placed 39th. The girls team placed 29th out of 29 teams. The boys did not have a team score as Kyle VanHecke was unable to run due to allergies. The girls team also did without their number one runner, Aliyah Jones, as she was getting ready for her brother's wedding. The Celtics next meet will be this weekend at the Helias Meet in Jeff City. It will be run at Binder Park. Varsity Boys will run at 10:00, varsity girls at 10:30, JV Boys at 11:00 and JV Girls at 11:30. Fans attending this meet are asked not to park in the boat ramp area. Plenty of parking is available east of the tackle shop or in the field across from the boat ramp.
On the college level, former female standout, Stevie Katzer, also ran a personal best in 21:19
at the Emporia State University meet on Friday. She has dropped nearly a minute from her time as a senior at O'Hara.
